OHD Notes
Includes a duplex and a carriage house. Known as the Sorg Mansion this home has been on the market for quiet a while. Originally costing $1 million (would cost around $23,574,070 today!) to build, it was converted into apartments in the late '30s and has eventually led to neglect that would require more money than it is currently listed for sale at to restore. There are 3 stories with 35 rooms, 12' ceilings with fireplaces in every room, beveled glass in bookcases and Italian tiles and marble.

Doing a Google search came up a lot of results but none too recent. These blog posts are from Dec 2009 and include a few interior pictures: Part 1, Part 2 and part 3. There were rumors for a while that someone was buying it a few months ago, but apparently that was just rumors. I don't know if there is a pending offer on the place right now or not. There are talks about keeping it as apartments or turning it into a bed and breakfast but the costs of restoring the home is so high, someone with a really deep pocket would be needed to save the old mansion.

There are a lot of exterior pics on Flickr and elsewhere of the home. And I can't post these here but I found some old pictures of the home circa 1888 before changes were made to the exterior, in 1895 before wing extensions, circa 1900, in 1905, circa 1909, and circa 1980.

Thanks to Martin for sending me the photos!
